Access lifecycle

Typical flow: request → approval when required → automated fulfillment → recorded grant. Automation services may skip explicit approval when the catalog item is configured that way.

Request access as a requester

1

Open your channel.

Use the Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email channel your organization configured.
2

Ask for access.

Ask for the entitlement in plain language.
3

Answer follow-up questions.

Reply with the justification and duration when Flow asks.
4

Track the outcome.

Follow approval and fulfillment updates in the same channel.
Microsoft Teams supports access requests only for the current speaker. Use Slack or email to request access for another person. See End user.

Approve or deny as an operator

1

Find pending work.

Check Home → Approvals or open the conversation with an approval badge.
2

Review context.

Read justification, requester, target application, and policy fields in the detail rail.
3

Decide.

Select Approve or Deny in the conversation header when you are authorized.
4

Confirm fulfillment.

After approval, an automation may provision access. Follow related items on the conversation or review the run under Automations → Monitoring.
