# Request and approve access

> Ask for access and decide requests in Flow.

## Access lifecycle

| Perspective | Surface | Goal |
| - | - | - |
| **Requester** | **Slack**, **Teams**, or **email** | Ask for an entitlement or service |
| **Approver** | **Home**, **Conversations** | Approve or deny pending decisions |

Typical flow: request → approval when required → automated fulfillment → recorded grant.

Automation services may skip explicit approval when the catalog item is configured that way.
