# ServiceNow CMDB

> ServiceNow CMDB configuration item sync into Flow assets.

## ServiceNow CMDB inventory

ServiceNow CMDB syncs configuration items into Flow's organization asset inventory. The asset source is organization-wide.

## Prerequisites

* A ServiceNow administrator who can grant read access to the configuration items you want in Flow.
* A Flow admin who can open **Integrations**.

## Connect in Flow

  <Step title="Connect ServiceNow.">
    Open **Integrations** and connect ServiceNow. Choose **All teams**.
    Asset sync needs a connection every team can use. A connection limited to specific teams does not offer **Enable** on the **Assets** tab.
    Use the same ServiceNow credentials as [ServiceNow ticketing](/integrations/ticketing/servicenow).

  <Step title="Open the Assets tab.">
    Open the ServiceNow connection and select the **Assets** tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enable asset sync.">
    Select **Enable**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the filter and start the first sync.">
    Enter **Filter scope**. Only configuration items that match this filter sync into Flow. Select **Save and start first sync**.

  <Step title="Review the result.">
    Review the asset count and source status under **Assets**.
  </Step>

## Sync and behavior

* Reconnecting the source keeps existing asset history.
* Disconnecting the source preserves historical assets while stopping new syncs.
